The owner designed this three-story home for her family on a wooded lot in Orange County. This house survived Hurricane Fran during the early framing stages, but it took a lot of tree cutting to reach the site afterwards! The design is eclectic contemporary, with the owners’ unique furniture and bright colors defining the interior. The outside has bold colors and extensive landscaping. The third floor is a home office high in the trees. The siding is cedar shingles. There is also a free-standing guest house/studio/carport.
