This Japanese influenced home is in the Solterra cohousing community of Durham County. To fit on the small lot, space was used very efficiently. The interior has a concrete slab floor and simple yellow pine trim. There is a meditation room upstairs with shoji doors by Chatham County woodworker Jim Smith. There is a spacious screen porch facing the back yard. The Leinbach residence was selected as part of the Raleigh News and Observer ”Home of the Month” series for 2006.
